> You can't over power the mud.
> Hard to find the right pace and place in big giant fields. 397 guys in JV race!
> Warm humid weather plus empty or poorly prepped stomachs = puke. Water + white bagel pre race = perfect.
> Guys varsity has to find a way to tighten up the 1-5 gap. :20, while small for most teams, won't work for us.
> JV guys get another W. Great work with several key guys out.
> Great job to the handful of guys who managed to PR
> Look at mile 1 split versus average pace. About :10 fast mile 1 is often optimal for many.
> If your average is less than :10 slower than mile 1, speed up! Take a risk!
> if your average is more than :15 slower than mile 1, you might need to dial it back some early.
> Freshman / sophomore guys. What is your average 5K so far?
> How does that compare to this year's older fast guys when they were your age?
